In June of 2017, CFCCN leaders met with other family child care leaders by conference call and decided that we should have a state-wide family child care appreciation campaign. There are plans to launch the campaign in January of 2018, when the California legislature is back in session. CFCCN has volunteered to put campaign information on its website. Across the nation, many family child care educators are participating in a Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS). In response, our CFCCN leaders are meeting with other family child care leaders by conference call to support a more family child care friendly QRIS in California. Our initial asks include better access to the DRDPtech tool that is needed to meet requirements. If you are interested in joining the calls, please contact Nancy Wyatt at nancywyatt@sbcglobal.net
CFCCN Asks Licensing for Translated Information:
At the request of our Hispanic Outreach Chair, Yessika Magdeleno, and our Social Media Chair, Oscar Tang, we have sent letters to Licensing requesting that they offer information in more languages. See "Our Projects" to view our letters requesting translated and updated versions of Quarterly Updates, the Title 22 Manual of Policies and Procedures, and the on-line Mandated Reporter Training.
Raising California is a SEIU led effort to gain support from the broader Early Childhood Education (ECE) world for SEIU's agenda for their ECE worker members and Family Child Care Educators (FCCEs)* in counties where they are organizing FCCEs.
